Psalms 133
What Happens in This Chapter
This short psalm praises what it is like when family members live together in peace. It compares that peace to oil poured on a priest's head and to fresh dew on the mountains. The psalm ends by saying God gives His blessing there, and that blessing is life forever.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
1Look and see! It is so good and so nice when brothers live together and get along.
2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
2It is like sweet-smelling oil poured on someone's head. The oil runs down onto the beard. It runs down Aaron's beard and onto the collar of his robe.
Aaron was Israel's first high priest, the leader of worship. When a priest began his work, oil was poured on his head as a sign that God had chosen him.
3As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.
3It is like the cool dew from Mount Hermon falling on the hills of Zion. That is where God gives His gift. His gift is life that never ends.
Dew is the water that forms on grass overnight. Mount Hermon is a tall mountain in the north with lots of dew. Zion is the hill where Jerusalem stood.
