1 Chronicles

Israel's history told again, starting with nine chapters of family lists that run from Adam down to the families who came back from exile in Babylon. The story part begins with Saul's death and then stays with David: how he became king, how he brought the ark to Jerusalem, the wars he fought, and the men who fought them. The last third is David getting ready for a temple he will not build, gathering materials, organizing the priests, Levites, singers and gatekeepers, and handing the plans to his son Solomon.
