Revelation 10

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

1Then I saw another strong angel coming down from heaven. He was wrapped in a cloud. A rainbow was over his head. His face shone like the sun. His legs were like tall posts of fire.

2And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

2In his hand he held a small scroll, a rolled-up sheet used as a book. The scroll lay open. He put his right foot on the sea. He put his left foot on the land.

3And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

3Then he shouted in a loud voice, like a lion roaring. When he shouted, seven thunders spoke with their own voices.

4And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

4When the seven thunders spoke, I was ready to write their words down. But a voice from heaven said to me, "Keep the thunders' words secret. Do not write them down."

5And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

5Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his hand toward heaven.

6And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

6He made a promise by God, who lives forever and ever. God made the heavens and everything in them. He made the earth and everything on it. He made the sea and everything in it. The angel said, "There will be no more waiting."

NoteThe old wording says "there should be time no longer." It does not mean time is ending. It means there will be no more delay.

7But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

7"In the days when the seventh angel blows his trumpet, God's secret plan will be finished. It will happen just as God told his servants the prophets, the people who spoke God's words."

8And the voice which I heard from heaven spake unto me again, and said, Go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel which standeth upon the sea and upon the earth.

8Then the voice from heaven spoke to me again. It said, "Go and take the open scroll. It is in the hand of the angel standing on the sea and the land."

9And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.

9So I went to the angel. I said, "Give me the little scroll." He said, "Take it and eat it. In your mouth it will taste sweet as honey. But it will make your stomach bitter."

10And I took the little book out of the angel’s hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

10I took the little scroll from the angel's hand and ate it. In my mouth it was sweet as honey. But after I ate it, my stomach turned bitter.

11And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

11Then I was told, "You must speak God's words again. You must speak about many peoples, nations, languages, and kings."

NoteThe old wording says "tongues." Here that word means languages, not the tongue in your mouth.
