Psalms 93
What Happens in This Chapter
This psalm says that God is King. It says God was King long before the world began. Then it talks about roaring rivers and crashing ocean waves. God is stronger than all that noise. The psalm ends by saying God's words can be trusted always.

The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
1The LORD is King! He wears greatness like a royal robe. The LORD has dressed himself in strength. He made the world firm and steady. Nothing can shake it loose.
"Reigneth" means rules as king. "Majesty" means the greatness a king has.
2Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.
2Your throne, where you sit as King, was set up long, long ago. You have always been alive, and you always will be.
3The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
3The rivers have risen high, LORD. The rushing waters roar out loud. The waves lift themselves up and crash down.
4The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.
4The LORD is high above the roar of the deep waters. He is stronger than the huge waves of the sea.
5Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever.
5Everything you say is true and sure, LORD. Your house is a holy place, and it will stay that way forever.
