What Happens in This Chapter
This is a short song asking God to be kind to his people and bless them. The singer wants everyone on earth to learn God's ways. The song asks all the nations of the world to sing and be glad. It ends with the earth giving a good harvest and God blessing his people.

"Selah" is a word left in the old songs. Nobody today is sure what it meant. It may have marked a pause in the music.
2That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.
2Then everyone on earth will learn your ways. People in every nation will learn how you save them.
The old English says "saving health." It means being saved or rescued, not being healthy.
3Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

4O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

6Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

7God blesses us. So people everywhere on earth will honor him.
"Fear him" here means to honor God with deep respect, not to be scared of him.
