Psalms 150
What Happens in This Chapter
This last psalm is one big call to praise God. It names where to praise him and why to praise him. Then it lists the instruments to use, one after another. It ends by asking every living thing to join in.

Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.
1Praise the LORD! Praise God in his holy house. Praise him in the wide sky, where his power shows.
2Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.
2Praise him for the strong things he has done. Praise him because he is so great.
3Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.
3Praise him with the sound of a horn. Praise him with a harp and a lyre.
A lyre is a small harp. The KJV calls it a "psaltery."
4Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
4Praise him with a tambourine, and dance too. Praise him with strings and with a flute.
A tambourine is a small drum you shake. The KJV calls it a "timbrel." The KJV word "organs" means a simple pipe, like a flute.
5Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.
5Praise him with cymbals that clash. Praise him with cymbals that ring out loud.
6Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
6Let everything that breathes praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
