Psalms 100
What Happens in This Chapter
This short psalm is a song that invites everyone on earth to praise the LORD. It tells people to sing, to be glad, and to come to God's temple with thanks. It says God made us and cares for us like a shepherd cares for sheep. It ends by saying God is good, and his love and faithfulness never run out.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
1Shout with joy to the LORD, everyone on earth!
2Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
2Be glad as you serve the LORD. Come to him with happy songs.
3Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
3Know this: the LORD is God. He made us, and we belong to him. We are his people. We are the sheep he takes care of.
The old English says "not we ourselves." Other old copies say "we are his," which is how most translations read it today. Both point to the same idea: God made us.
4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
4Come through his gates saying thank you. Come into his courtyards with songs of praise. Thank him. Say good things about his name.
5For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
5The LORD is good. His love never ends. He keeps his promises to every family, in every time.
