Proverbs
A collection of short sayings about how to live, opening with Solomon's name and a long series of talks from a father to his son. The early chapters run in speeches, get wisdom, stay away from the gang and the other man's wife, listen to Wisdom herself, pictured as a woman calling out in the streets. After that the book turns into hundreds of two-line sayings that set the wise beside the fool and the righteous beside the wicked, covering money, work, speech, temper, kings and family, and it ends with the words of Agur, the words King Lemuel's mother taught him, and a poem about a wife of strong character.
