Sihon Slain, His Land Given as Heritage
10He struck down many great nations. He killed strong kings.
Who smote great nations, and slew mighty kings;
11He struck Sihon, king of the Amorites. He struck Og, king of Bashan. He struck all the kingdoms of Canaan.

Sihon and Og were kings whose lands Israel had to pass through. The Amorites were one of the peoples living there. Canaan was the land God promised to give his people.
12He gave their land away as a gift. He gave it to his people Israel to keep.
And gave their land for an heritage, an heritage unto Israel his people.
Back then, land was passed down from parents to children. It stayed in the family for a long, long time. That is the kind of gift God gave Israel.
Famous Kings Slain, Sihon Among Them
17He struck down great kings. His love lasts forever.
To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The Amorites lived in the land Israel was walking toward. Sihon was their king, and he would not let Israel pass.
20He struck down Og, the king of Bashan. His love lasts forever.
And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:
Bashan was a green, grassy land east of the Jordan River. Og was the king there.
21He gave their land away to be kept forever. His love lasts forever.
And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:
A "heritage" is something passed down to your children. It stays in the family for always.
22He gave it to Israel, the people who serve him. His love lasts forever.
