The First Man of the Earth, Earthy
45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
The Scriptures say, "The first man, Adam, became a living being." The last Adam became a spirit who gives life.
46Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The spiritual did not come first. The natural came first, and the spiritual came after.
47The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
The first man was made from the dust of the earth. The second man came from heaven.
48As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
People made of earth are like that man made of earth. People of heaven are like that man from heaven.
49And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
We have carried the likeness of the man made of earth. We will also carry the likeness of the man from heaven.
Formed First, and Not Deceived
13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
For Adam was made first, and Eve came after him.
14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
And Adam was not the one who was fooled. The woman was fooled, and she broke God's command.
