Joel
The words of the prophet Joel, spoken after a swarm of locusts stripped the land bare and left no grain, wine, or oil for the offerings. Joel calls the whole nation to fast and mourn and turn back to God, and says the day of the LORD is near. The book ends with God promising to repay the years the locusts ate, to pour out his Spirit on all people, and to put the nations on trial in the valley of decision.
