Habakkuk

A short book built out of a back-and-forth between a prophet and the LORD. Habakkuk asks why violence goes unanswered and why God stays silent while the wicked swallow up people better than themselves, and the LORD answers twice: he is raising up the Chaldeans, and a vision is coming at its appointed time. It ends with a prayer set to music, picturing God marching out to rescue his people, and the prophet saying that even if every crop and herd fails he will still rejoice in the LORD.
