Epistle of Jeremiah

A single-chapter letter sent under Jeremy's name to people about to be carried off to Babylon. It tells them they will be there seven generations, and warns them not to worship the images they will see carried through the streets. Most of it is a long list of reasons those images of silver, gold, and wood are not gods: they cannot speak, see, move, or save anyone, their priests take their gold and their clothes, and birds and cats sit on them.
