A short letter from Peter, written while he knew his death was near, to remind readers of what they had already been taught. Much of it is a warning about false teachers who slip in among the people, take money from them, and live however they want. It closes with the promise that the day of the Lord will come suddenly, that the present heavens and earth are being kept for fire, and that new heavens and a new earth are coming.
