1 Esdras
A retelling of the last kings of Judah, the fall of Jerusalem, and the return from Babylon to rebuild the temple. It covers much of the same ground as Ezra, with long registers of the families who came back, the letters kings sent to stop the work and then to fund it, and Esdras reading the law aloud to the people. It also holds a story found nowhere else: three young bodyguards of King Darius argue over what is strongest (wine, the king, or women) and the winner asks for Jerusalem to be rebuilt.
